The Verizon Wireless & New Jersey Devils "Get to Know Jamie Langenbrunner" Sweepstakes & Instant Win Game
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Verizon Wireless & New Jersey Devils "Get to Know Jamie Langenbrunner" Sweepstakes & Instant Win Game ("Promotion") begins at 12:00:00 PM (Noon) Eastern Time ("ET") on Monday, October 20, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on Sunday, December 28, 2008 ("Promotion Period").
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open to legal residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and D.C. (excluding Hawaii, Alaska, and Florida). Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of Promotion registration. Employees, officers and directors of Verizon Wireless ("Sponsor"), the New Jersey Devils, National Hockey League, Prudential Center, RealTime Media, Inc., their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, distributors, suppliers, advertising, promotional, judging, fulfillment and marketing agencies, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling & spouse) and persons living in the same households as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
3. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
a. FOR SWEEPSTAKES: LIMIT one (1) entry per person per day during the Promotion Period, except that entrant may receive a maximum of 5 additional entries per Promotion Period that may be earned pursuant to the Tell A Friend Program described below. Subsequent entries during the Promotion Period from the same person or email address are void. Any attempt by a person to use multiple email accounts to enter more than once per day may result in disqualification at the discretion of the judges or Sponsor.
b. FOR INSTANT WIN: LIMIT one (1) entry per person per Weekly Game (defined below) during the Promotion Period. Subsequent entries for any Weekly Game from the same person or email address are void. Any attempt by a person to use multiple email accounts to play a Weekly Game more than once during the Promotion Period are void and may result in disqualification at the discretion of the judges or Sponsor.
For the purposes of the Promotion, a day shall mean the 24-hour period beginning at 12:00:00 AM ET and ending at 11:59:59 PM ET, except for the first day, which begins at 12:00:00 PM ET. Proof of e-mailing does not constitute proof of entry. By entering, entrants accept and agree to these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements. All entries become the property of Sponsor. Neither Sponsor, New Jersey Devils, National Hockey League, Prudential Center, RealTime Media, Inc., nor their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, distributors, suppliers, advertising, promotional, judging, fulfillment and marketing agencies, nor the affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, and respective employees of each (collectively "Sponsor Parties"), assume any responsibility for late, lost, illegible, misdirected, or undelivered entries or registration forms.
Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of any potential winner, the potential winner will be deemed to be the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. A potential winner must provide Sponsor with satisfactory proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the potentially winning Promotion entry. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. By entering the Promotion, entrant recognizes and agrees to all of the terms and conditions of the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, which is available at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/globalText?contentType=globalContent.
4. INSTANT WIN WEEKLY GAMES: There are a total of ten (10) Weekly Games in the Promotion. The following schedule outlines the availability of each Weekly Game.
Weekly Game 1: The Week 1 game may be played one time between Monday, October 20, 2008 at 12:00 PM (Noon) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 2: The Week 2 game may be played one time between Monday, October 27, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 3: The Week 3 game may be played one time between Monday, November 3, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 4: The Week 4 game may be played one time between Monday, November 10, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 5: The Week 5 game may be played one time between Monday, November 17, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 6: The Week 6 game may be played one time between Monday, November 24, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 7: The Week 7 game may be played one time between Monday, December 1, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 8: The Week 8 game may be played one time between Monday, December 8, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 9: The Week 9 game may be played one time between Monday, December 15, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
Weekly Game 10: The Week 10 game may be played one time between Monday, December 22, 2008 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) ET and Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET.
If you begin to play a game before December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET but do not finished the game until after December 28, 2008 at 11:59 PM ET but before December 29, 2009 at 12:00 PM ET, you will be able to complete the game. A game will be considered played once all the questions for that week have been answered.
5. HOW TO PLAY THE SWEEPSTAKES: No purchase necessary to play.
To enter the Sweepstakes, visit www.thinkyouknowjamie.com Once on the Registration page, complete the entry form with your true and correct information in all required fields and click on the submit button. After clicking on the "Submit" button, you will receive one (1) Sweepstakes entry. Entrants will also be awarded one (1) Instant Win Game Play ("Game Piece") for registering for the first time.
Each day you return to the site and login using the information entered during the registration process you earn an additional Sweepstakes entry. You may only earn one (1) additional entry per day for logging in. While you will be able to access the site, subsequent logins on the same day will not result in additional Sweepstakes entries.
Tell-A-Friend Program: Entrants will be able to earn additional Sweepstakes entries through the Tell-A-Friend program by clicking on the "Tell-A-Friend" link on the Game Selection screen and filling in the names and valid e-mail addresses of their friends/family members. Entrants will earn an additional Sweepstakes entry for each unique and valid person they refer who subsequently registers for the Promotion. Limit: Five (5) additional Sweepstakes Entries for Tell-A-Friend per person during the Promotion Period.
6. HOW TO PLAY THE INSTANT WIN GAME: No purchase necessary to play.
First Time Entrants: Once you have registered to enter the Sweepstakes as outlined above you will be eligible to play the Instant Win game. After registration, entrants will proceed to the Game Selection screen where they will choose an available Weekly Game to play. Once in the game, entrants will be shown a video of a question and answer session with Jamie Langenbrunner in which Jamie will be answering questions about himself. Before Jamie gives his answer to each question the entrant will be given the opportunity to guess what Jamie’s answer will be. Once a guess is made the video will resume and the correct answer will be revealed. A total of eight (8) questions will be asked per Weekly Game. Questions 1-4 will have 2 answer options for the entrant to choose from. Questions 5-8 will have 4 answer options for the entrant to choose from.
Once all 8 questions have been answered, entrants will be awarded a Game Piece for each answer they predicted correctly. If no questions are answered correctly at the end of the Weekly Game, the entrant will still be awarded one Instant-Win scratch card for playing. Instant-Win Game Pieces will not be awarded until the entrant completes the session by answering all 8 questions.
Entrants will receive a message on the page which will include a link which they can click to play their Game Piece(s). Once the link is clicked and the game piece is served they can scratch off (using your mouse or other pointing device) the image covering the prize matrix portion of the Game Piece that has been displayed on the computer screen. If the Game Piece displayed on the browser contains (3) three exact matches of the same Instant-Win prize, that prize is won, subject to redemption, verification, and final approval of the judges.
If you are an Instant-Win Prize Winner, you must select "Click here to claim your prize!" and complete the online prize redemption form. After completing the online prize redemption form, select the submit button. All online prize redemptions must be claimed by 12:00:00 PM (Noon) ET on Monday, December 29, 2009. All prize claims are subject to verification by Sponsor. Without verification, proof of play and/or winning will not be deemed to be proof of winning by Sponsor.
Returning Entrants: Entrants can return to the Game Selection screen at any time to play any available Weekly Games. Each Weekly Game may only be played one time. Entrants are only required to complete the online registration form the first time they register for the Promotion. To play again entrants will fill in their email address and password and click the "Login" button on the Promotion Home Page. After logging in, entrants will proceed to the Game Selection page and choose an available Weekly Game to play. Game play will commence as described above.
First time and/or returning entrants may play more than one available Weekly Game per site visit.
7. SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING AND PRIZES/ODDS: An electronic randomized drawing will be held on or about January 28, 2009 by RealTime Media, Inc., an independent judging organization, to select one (1) Winner from all Sweepstakes eligible entries received. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received.
One Grand Prize: Winner will receive 2 tickets to a Devils game and a chance to meet Jamie Langenbrunner. The meet and greet with Jamie will include a tour of the Devils practice facility, lunch with Jamie and watching a Devils practice.
Prize Restrictions: Winner and Guest(s) must be able to attend the events on the dates specified by the Sponsor or team in order to receive prize. All other expenses not specified herein (including, but not limited to, taxes, meals, beverages, and transportation to/from winner’s residence) are the sole responsibility of the winner. Specifics of all prizes are in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Total ARV of Sweepstakes Grand Prize is $300.00.
8. INSTANT WIN GAME PRIZES AVAILABLE and ODDS OF WINNING: There are a total of 10,200 winning pieces in the Instant Win Game. Odds of winning Instant Win prizes depend on the number of eligible entries received and time Game Piece is played. The Quantity, Prize Description/Average Retail Value (ARV) of specific prizes in the Instant Win Game are as follows:
Total ARV of the Instant Win Prizes is $26,548.75. All properly claimed prizes will be awarded. The Sponsor assumes all costs associated with shipping the prizes.
IN THE EVENT OF PRIZE UNAVAILABILITY, PRIZES MAY BE SUBSTITUED BY THE INDEPENDENT JUDGES FOR ITEMS OF EQUAL OR GREATER ARV.

9. PRIZE AWARDING: Prizes will only be awarded by Sponsor upon potential winners’ verification and final approval by Sponsor. No prize substitution, cash equivalent of prizes, transfer or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If the winner of any prize is a minor (in any state where the age of majority is not 18), prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian. Potential winning entrants will receive prize notification via electronic mail, United States Postal Mail, overnight mail, and/or phone call. All prizes valued below $600 will be fulfilled 6 to 12 weeks after the Promotion Period has ended. Potential winners of any prize valued at $600 or more or the Sweepstakes Grand Prize will receive notification within thirty (30) days after the Promotion Period has ended that he/she has won and will have twenty-four (24) hours from receipt of winning notification to confirm that the notification has been received. If a winning entrant of any prize cannot be contacted; is ineligible; fails to claim the prize; if the prize notification is returned undeliverable; or if the potential winner otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, he/she will forfeit that prize and the prize will be awarded to an alternate potential winner in a second chance drawing from among all non-winning eligible entries received. Odds of winning in the second chance drawing depend on the number of eligible entries received. After confirming notification receipt, the potential winners will be sent via United States Postal Mail and/or overnight mail an Affidavit of Eligibility/Compliance & Publicity/Liability Release forms, W9 form and a travel companion release form to be completed by the travel companion if applicable. These forms must be completed, signed, notarized and returned to RealTime Media within three (3) days. The potential winner then and only then becomes the winner. If the potential winning entrant of any prize cannot be contacted; is ineligible; fails to return the completed and executed Affidavit and Release; fails to claim the prize; if the prize notification is returned undeliverable; or if the potential winner otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, he/she will forfeit that prize and the prize will be awarded to an alternate potential winner in a second chance drawing from among all non-winning eligible entries received. Odds of winning in the second chance drawing depend on the number of eligible entries received. Any taxes, fees, or incidental costs including but not limited to income taxes which may arise and be due or asserted on account of the prize shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. A 1099 tax form will be the responsibility of the winner. Winners agree that receiving a prize grants Sponsor the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use universe-wide in any media now known or later developed at any time or times, the winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information for any purpose, including but not limited to, in advertisements, publicity, and other communications without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. All decisions of the judges shall be binding and final.
10. RELEASE: As a condition of entering the Promotion, entrant (and parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor, in any state where the age of majority is not 18) agree that (1) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (2) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form class action; and (3) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorney’s fees. BY ENTERING THE PROMOTION, ENTRANTS AGREE TO RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR PARTIES AND THE RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AND AGENTS OF EACH, FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS, OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING DEATH, AND PROPERTY, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, WHICH MAY BE DUE TO OR ARISE OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION OR ANY PORTION THEREOF, OR THE ACCEPTANCE, USE/MISUSE OR POSSESSION OF PRIZES, OR ANY PRIZE RELATED ACTIVITY. ENTRANTS WAIVE ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
11. DISCLAIMER: Sponsor Parties are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Promotion-related materials. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual that tampers with the entry process, and terminate, suspend, cancel or modify the Promotion and award the prizes from among all eligible entries received as of the date of termination if for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, fraud, unauthorized intervention, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor Parties. Sponsor Parties and the respective officers, directors, agents and employees of each are not responsible or liable for any events beyond the control of the Sponsor, which may cause the Promotion to be stopped, including but not limited to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, nor are they responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Promotion or downloading any materials in this Promotion. The Sponsor and its independent judging organization may stop you from participating in this Promotion if you ignore the Promotion Official Rules or act, in Sponsor’s sole discretion: (a) in a manner Sponsor determines to be not fair; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or the Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. Sponsor’s sole responsibility for any irregular Game Piece is to provide another Game Piece. Should more prizes be awarded through a computer hardware or software malfunction, error or failure, or for any other reason, in any prize category, than are stated for that category in the Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the number of prizes stated in the Official Rules for that category. In no event will more prizes be awarded than those listed in Rule #7, and Rule #8.

CHOICE OF LAW AND JURISDICTION: Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants or winners, Sponsor, and administrator in connection with this Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New Jersey, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of Jersey or any other jurisdiction), which might otherwise cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Jersey. Any action seeking legal or equitable relief arising out of or relating to the Promotion or these Official Rules shall be brought only in the courts of the State of New Jersey.
13. TAX INFORMATION: All federal, state, local, and other income taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the applicable winner, and each winner may be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the value of his/her prize.
